Visual Description of Artwork
This is an acrylic painting, measuring 16 inches high by 12 inches wide, in black, white and grey tones. Overlapping circles of different sizes are depicted. Where they overlap, segments of these circles create new shapes and lines. The large black circle that filled the lower left of the canvas in Motion #2 has moved further across the canvas, and now dominates the bottom half of the painting. Other circles are gathered along the right edge of the canvas.
This is the third painting in this series of four works about circles in motion. The paintings are displayed in two pairs. Motion #3 is directly beneath Motion #1, and is to the immediate left of Motion #4. The series creates the illusion that the circles are moving from one canvas to the next, from left to right.
