This is the first painting in a series of four works about circles in motion.
Motion #1 is an acrylic painting, measuring 16 inches high by 12 inches wide, in black, white and gray tones, Overlapping circles of different sizes completely fill the canvas. Where they intersect, the segments of circles create new shapes and lines.
The four paintings are displayed in two pairs. Motion #1 is on the top left, with Motion #2 immediately next to it, on the top right. The relationship between the canvases creates the illusion that the circles are moving left to right, from one canvas to another.1of 4
