Friendships are to be cherished. Long time friendships are to be celebrated. Judith Trager and I met and our mutual love of quilts bound us together like long-distance sisters. Each bowl contains the aura that permeates good feelings and memories gathered over time.___
Visual Description of Artwork
This silk quilt is vertically oriented. On a panel across the top are transferred two photographic images of the small, patterned, ceramic Chinese bowl at the heart of this exhibit - the image is transferred onto fabric as a black and white patterned bowl on a white background. Below the two bowls, are 12 long, thin quilted panels, approximately 2” in diameter. Some of these loong panels are patterned with what seem to be images from magazines, some with text, and some abstractly patterned or solid. The strips are mostly black and white, with some blocks of pale green and several multicolored panels, colored with pops of orange, pink and green.Courtesy of the ArtistFurther images
