Despite their listing as an endangered species, green sea turtles are killed for their meat, shells and eggs. These large herbivores live in coastal waters all over the world, and are therefore threatened as bycatch in commercial fishing, and by loss of foraging habitat and nesting beaches. Many groups are working to protect and recover green sea turtle populations.2of 2
