Artist Statement
My paintings are love letters to the city that claimed me—the city I now call home. I move through its streets as a flâneur, capturing the fleeting interplay of light, architecture, and movement. Every brushstroke preserves a moment—the morning sun on a quiet street, neon glows on rain-slick pavement, the warmth of a late-night café.
I am drawn to the rhythm of the city, the constant motion of people and transit shaping its energy. Lately, my work has explored the ways we move through urban spaces—trains rushing past, buses idling at stops, pedestrians weaving through crosswalks. These elements are more than just subjects; they are the heartbeat of the city, tracing its patterns and stories.
I paint the city from within, tracing its stories and transformations. Working en plein air and in the studio, I uncover the extraordinary in the everyday, inviting others to pause, look closer, and find themselves in the landscape.
