Visual Description of Artwork
This silk quilt is vertically oriented. On a panel across the top are transferred two photographic images of the small, patterned, ceramic Chinese bowl at the heart of this exhibit - the image is transferred onto fabric as a black and white patterned bowl on a white background. Below the two bowls, are 12 long, thin quilted panels, approximately 2” in diameter. Some of these loong panels are patterned with what seem to be images from magazines, some with text, and some abstractly patterned or solid. The strips are mostly black and white, with some blocks of pale green and several multicolored panels, colored with pops of orange, pink and green.
